I’m looking for a factual source to find information on current events and politics besides mass media such as cnn or fox… any suggestions? I realize its hard to find any sources without a bias but i’m looking for the the most neutral blog or other website where I can get factual information and not alot of rhetoric and opinion.

How does American politics work?
IM from the Uk and to be honest I have never really understood any politics in general. However I am interested in American politics it seems much more interesting.
What are the difference between democrats and republicans and is it like here in the Uk where there are many different political parties or is it just these 2?
Who represents each party?

In US Presidential Politics, should race or religion play a role?
The US constitution is based on the notion that we are all born equal and free and that we also have a clear separation between church and state.
However, race and religion play a prominent role in US politics.
Do you think this is right? Why or why not?

Do you think more Americans are clueless or well informed on politics?
I’ve met a large portion of people who keep up to date on politics and important issues going on around the world. Then I’ve met the depressing amount of people who could care less about who is running the country and would rather be keeping up to date on Britney Spears’ crazy status. My parents are sort of in-between. They know what is going on throughout the world but they vote for people based on poor reasons–like just because of their party.
Do you think more Americans are clueless or well informed about politics?
I know what you mean by day-to-day problems–my family lives on each paycheck. Miss one and we’re screwed. It’s not like my family is peaceful either. We’re all dysfunctional people who should really be on anti-depressants.
But nevertheless, I think politics are important…life is busy but obviously what is happening in your country will affect you…right?
So I guess what I’m asking is, does anyone CARE anymore?
i agree about the political party thing…
i mean, there are flaws in both parties…sometimes the answer isn’t strictly ‘the conservative’ or the ‘liberal’ side.

How are European politics in contrast to American politics?
Also, is there any similarity? Are they generally liberal or conservative by American standards? How do their countries run with elections? What about England specifically? How does the Queen rule them?

Why is the topic politics so sensitive?
I talk to my friends all the time about politics, but as it gets closer to election day the subject seems to be sensitive. Why? Whoever wins, wins. I mean you can’t change who wins, and I know that this election is important but I just want to know why the subject is so sensitive.
P.S Who do you want to win?
