newyorkloveaffair asked:

I’ve always had an interest in politics (I’m 19), and lately I’ve been thinking that it would make a good career for me, because I’ve found nothing else that I’m so passionate about. How do you get into the world of politics? It’s not like I want to run for president, but I’d really like to work on campaigns and other things. One other thing that interests me is political journalism work.

Why do so many people become instantly hostile and defensive when discussing politics?

Sonia M asked:

I am a liberal democrat and my boyfriend is a conservative Republican. We haven’t killed each other (yet). I happen to think that open, friendly debate between differing political parties can be a healthy, productive thing. Unfortunately most people I talk politics with get really testy if I don’t immediately agree with their views. Maybe the old saying about the impossibility of changing a person’s view on religion or politics is true. What do you think? Thanks for your time and input.

A group of Pastors is preaching politics today, challenging the law that gives them tax exempt status for refusing to do so. Should their churches lose that status? Do you believe it is the place of religious leaders to tell you how to vote?

I LOVE VEGAS!!! asked:

I am still undecided on who I want to vote for. I think both candidates have good and bad points. I know Obama has only been in politics for a few years, so I was wondering if anyone knew how long Reagan and Clinton were in politics before they were elected President?
