I have often considered the possibility of working at home, or making a different source of income apart from typical jobs as we know it, mostly to disassociate myself from job politics 101. Any thoughts, comments, ideas on this?

My wife applied for a job (California), no mention of politics etc. on the job requirement. She sent an e-mail to the person who posted the job on Linked-In who replied…
“Thanks, ****. I’m afraid our politics don’t mesh.”
The only place her politics is mentioned is on her Facebook page.
Isn’t this political discrimination? To not even be considered for a job because of your political beliefs?

Preferably something that won’t make it obvious that I’m on something, but that will keep me from thinking about the drama/politics that are going on (It’s a good job, and super easy, that’s why I won’t just quit).

What is a good avenue to walk if you want to start a career in politics? I want to be involved in campaigning financing and offices, how do you build your resume or get your foot in the door for political careers?
